Brenton,
Do you remember, I taught you to swim at Westmonte? How I would throw you in the deep end and yell at you....Sink or swim Brenton, Sink or Swim...I would say Kick, blow air through your nose. Do you remember I taught you how to ride a bike? How I would put you on my Pink Huffy Bike on the top of the Double Hill on Spring Oaks Blvd and push you down and say stay straight and peddle. When you fell. I would tell you to be tough, lets go again. And you always would through tears and scraped knees. Do you remember how we would fight? Do you remember how after we would fight... we would conspire on how we would cover up our fights because the house would be in shambles? Poor Lacey, Sally, and Smokey.... I wonder if Mom ever really believed it a was the animals that broke things?
I wish as your TRUE sister, I could have known the man all your friends knew. I wish we could have been close. I wish you knew how much I wanted to be your big sister. I wish you knew that I DID defend you. I wish you knew the pain I felt when we fought. I wish you knew how I envied your freedom. I wish you knew how much I wanted you to have a family of your own, a wife, a child, your own dog, and a home. I wish you knew, I knew I could always count on you, when I needed you. I wish you knew, I did love you.
You left us....Your Nephews and Niece hurt. Your Mother broken. Your Sister left to know what her last words to you were. May you forgive me. As you look down, I hope you see how much the world really loved you, how much YOUR FAMILY really loved you and will miss you.
