For Michel Anthony Pietrangelo's Family -

On behalf of all Patricia's I express our condolences on the death of Mike Pietrangelo. I did not know Mike personally but his service to the regiment in the years 1983-1990 obviously made friends for him to this day, as witnessed here, and his service to Canada was no doubt made possible by the support of friends and family. Thank you to Mike, and to all who helped him.

Brigadier-General (Ret'd) Vince Kennedy
Colonel of the Regiment, PPCLI

That is sad news to hear, I remember when he joined course 8325 Ypres platoon. He started off with Korea I think they were course 8323. I remember him, Falcon-bridge, Estavan, Firth and other fella playing Risk in the laundry room till 3 - 4 in the morning. A few times Mike would talk or beak off and the whole platoon ended up pumping off 50+ push ups.
During Fatal blow at end ex of battle school were were doing Escape and evasion we had to look for him and Falcon-bridge.
Mike, Darcy, Carey, Wilfred and me (all from 8325) were part of AUSCAN platoon in 84, we spent 3 months in Australia took a couple jungle warfare courses in Canungra and Tulley. While in Tulley we had a dart and pool tournament with in the platoon. Mike and Darcy won both. Also in Tulley our platoon set an obstacle course record.
What I remember most about Mike was his wacky sense of humour.

I remember when I joined the reserves that he inspired me to go to the reg military. Him and I went to rendezvous 92, where we worked together with his old unit. That's when I decided to join PPCLI. He helped make it happen. I remember him and I going out and having fun a lot of times. We would make people laugh and have a good time with us. I remember one time we were out on a weekend drinking where we got so drunk we ended up walking back to base and we never made it. we both passed out in the farmers field. Next day we had to get back to base fast. I will always remember the good times i had with him. I have so many good memories I wish I could share with everyone that Mike was a good man.
